In automotive industry the products are engineered to meet the most demanding applications, such as rubber processing and tire handling. 

Experimental hop picker uses trucks that self unload then separates the cones from the field stripped arms. Separated cones fall through the mesh and are taken away by a conveyor to be cleaned and separated from leaves and arms through the vertical fan cleaners and dribbles of an existing Dauenhauer hop picker. Hops feed into the front end of the Dauenhauer which alleviates the bottle neck and labor to manually unload from trailers. This picker’s volume of product is the same or more than the standard two or three bank vertical picker, and exceeds the cleaning capacity of two dribbles and two vertical fan cleaners. In these videos limiting factors were the volume of hops to feed the new experimental picker, and horse power limitations of the drums. Horsepower will be resolved for next season by increasing them from five to ten and reducing the gear ratio slightly; this will increase the available torque 2.36 times. Also next season striped arms and other sorted trash will be removed straight to the trash container via new trash conveyors. This video was taken at Brulotte Farms inc. Toppenish, WA
