LEWCO, Inc. recently delivered its ninth continuous process annealing oven to a tier-one automotive supplier. The oven is used to anneal plastic automotive lenses at a maximum temperature of 220°F. The process relieves stresses created during welding to avoid cracking or clouding of the lens during assembly. While inside the oven the parts will travel through three separate temperature zones; preheat, soak, and cooling. Once they pass through the cooling zone the parts are unloaded and packaged.
